My name is Melissa. 19. 2 months after I graduated from high school I went to LA on my own to go to school. My depression, which I had ignored for many years, surfaced and I struggled to cope with accepting it. I attended a college where I was constantly put down and mentally bullied by my roommates, which lead to a deeper depression followed by a struggle to eat and self harm. I have now returned home to Illinois and I am on my way to recovery. I don’t know where I am going in the future but each day is getting a little brighter.
